getting started

how do i scan a barcode?
Open the Scan tab (the big camera button), and point your phone at any product barcode. The first time, you'll be asked for camera permission — tap Allow. Hold steady until you hear the beep.
why does Beeps ask for location?
Some figures are tied to a coarse zone (think: neighborhood-sized buckets, not precise GPS). If you skip the location prompt the app still works — you'll just miss a few location-flavored rarities.
what counts as a barcode?
Standard EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, and QR codes. Most grocery, book, and package barcodes work. Some heavily stylized or hand-drawn ones may not.

collection, friends, and trading

i scanned something but no figure appeared.
Scans are rate-limited to 30 per hour per account to prevent abuse. If you hit the limit you'll see a small 'Scan limit reached' toast. Wait an hour and try again. If you weren't rate-limited, check your network connection — the figure is resolved server-side.
how do i add a friend?
Friends tab → Add Friend → type their username. They'll see your request on their Friends tab and can accept or reject it.
how do bump trades work?
Open the Bump tab with a figure equipped and hold your phone near a friend's (both of you on the Bump screen). If they bump at the same time, a new crafted figure is generated for both of you.

how do i change my username?
Username changes aren't self-service yet. Email us and we'll update it for you.
how do i delete my account?
Email michaeldcruz@gmail.com from the address you signed up with. We'll delete your account, your collection, and any friendships within 7 days.
i forgot my password.
On the login screen, tap 'Forgot password?' and follow the emailed link.
